With the Southwest monsoon intensifying in Kerala just days after its onset, heavy downpours have unleashed landslides, uprooted trees, and brought severe waterlogging across multiple districts, particularly in the south and central regions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an updated weather warning, placing the central district of Thrissur and the northern districts of Malappuram and Kozhikode under a red alert.
In response to the severe weather conditions, authorities have enforced traffic restrictions along the Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala state highway to mitigate the threat of mudslides.
