Landslip on NH 75, traffic congestion observed

Vital: A landslide occurred at Surikumeru (NH 75) on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway on Monday.
As per the reports the landslide took place due to the hillock being dug halfway through for the broadening of highway roads on either side. Heavy rains from the past week are also a reason for the slip.
As a huge load of mud had slipped onto the highway, traffic congestion was observed for some time.
Later, with the help of locals, mud from one side was cleared, making way for traffic from only one side of the road.
