Last Rites of Enagi Balappa Held Near His Residence in Belagavi

Savadatti: Last rites of renowned Kannada theater artist, cine actor Enagi Balappa held at Enagi of Belagavi district on Saturday with all state honors.  Funeral ceremony of the deceased was held according to Veerashaiva-Linagayat rituals near his residence and tomb of his wife Savithramma.

Thousands of people including, fans, locals, artists and others witnessed the last rites of the senior artist. Representing the government, Karnataka State Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree, Member of Parliament Suresh Angadi and others took part in the last rites of the artist.  

Enagi Balappa (103) was died on Friday following age related health issues. He was in coma stage for two days prior to his death on August 18.
