Mangaluru: The last voter at the polling booth located at Panela in Pajeeru exercised his franchise on Thursday April 18, but sadly passed away after reaching his home. The deceased man is identified as Walter D’Souza (40), son of the late Victor D’Souza from Panela and was apparently suffering from kidney-related complications since some time.

Mr D’Souza was the last voter to cast his vote at the polling booth located in Panela government primary school at around 6 pm. After casting his vote he returned back and moments after reaching home he suffered a cardiac arrest. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he lost his battle for life en route.
