Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy met several aggrieved persons during the Janata Darshan held at his home office, Krishna, on Saturday.

On Saturday, a huge gathering had assembled at Krishna with the hope of seeing the chief minister and pouring out their grievances to him. However, few of them left disappointed as Kumaraswamy had not arrived at the scheduled time.

But those who waited patiently did get a chance to meet him and brief him about their problems. Kumaraswamy not only heard several of them out, including 300 differently abled persons but also offered financial assistance to many.

Kumaraswamy, who received close to 1,056 petitions during the day, however, informed those present that he would be holding the Janata Darshan only on Saturdays while on the other days, developmental works would assume priority.

“During the last 100 days, I have held a Janata Darshan every day and responded to people’s problems. But from today the Janata Darshan will be held only on Saturdays when I am in Bengaluru. On other days, other development work will receive priority,” he said.

Further, he informed about his plans to visit one district headquarters every month. Apart from meetings officers, he said that he would listen to public grievances there and spend time with the farmers to create awareness about modern agricultural practices.

The CMO had made seating and food arrangements during the Janata Darshan. Separate arrangements were made for disabled people while the token system was introduced to avoid the rush.

The Janata Darshan had been popular among the masses when it was first started by Kumaraswamy way back in 2006 during his chief ministerial tenure. For some reasons though the subsequent CMs had discontinued the programme.
