Late night shootout in Sullia: Unidentified men open fire at man

Sullia:  A man had a close call after a group fired at him near here on Sunday, June 5.

The incident occurred on the Mani-Mysuru Highway near Jyothi Circle in Sullia.

Four unidentified men, who were riding on a Scorpio car, fired rounds at Mohammed Sahi (39) of Jayanagar in Sullia. Sahi, fortunately, escaped with minor injuries as the bullets grazed past him. However, the car he was driving suffered damage.

The attack took place at 10.30 PM when Sahi was getting onto the car after visiting his sister. As he was opening the car’s door, the Scorpio-borne assailants suddenly opened fire.

In the attack, Sahi suffered injuries to his back and is recuperating at the Government Hospital in Sullia.

Sullia police visited the crime spot and have taken up the investigation.
