Late night shootout in Ullal: Youth injured

Ullal: A team which came in a Toyota Innova car opened fired and injured a youth within Ullal police station limits late on Sunday night. The injured youth is identified as Irshad (17), a local resident.

It is said that there were 7 persons who came in the car. The locals inform that the team was led by Suhail Kandaka, a resident of Bunder and a youth Congress leader. They fired five rounds and greivousy injured Irshad who was on the spot.

The locals immediately shifted the injured Irshad to Yenepoya hospital at Derlakatte. It is said that when locals came out after fearing the shots, the accused left the car and fled the location. The angry locals, vented out their anger on the car. Senior police officials have visited the spot.

WhatsApp status the cause?

An argument had broken out between the political activists regarding a WhatsApp status and Suhail and the team had come to Ullal to hold talks regarding this. During this occasion, a team of youth from Kadappara in Kileria Nagar attacked Suhail and his team with weapons. It is learnt that, during this attack, Suhail opened fire for self-defense.
