Latest LHB bogies for trains

Udupi: The bogies of Mandovi Express and Konkan Kanya Express train plying between Madgaon Junction-Mumbai CSMT have been replaced with upgraded latest bogies.
The new bogies have LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) for the safety and convenience of the passengers. The exterior and interior of the bogies have been made of stainless steel and aluminum respectively. This has also brought down the weight of the bogies. LHB coach are longer than the earlier coaches and thus the seating capacity will also increase. The maintenance of these coaches is easier. Every coach is equipped with ‘Advanced Pneumatic Disk Brake System’ which has the capacity to effectively engage brakes even at high speeds. Led lights have been used.
Since hydraulic shock an improved suspension have been used, the passengers will travel more comfortably. Air conditioning too has been upgraded. The air is being supplied via micro-compressor and hence will be providing a good environment, during summers as well as the monsoon seasons. Center Buffer Clipping (CBC) system has been used to provide additional safety, stated a release from the department.
