Lecturer arrested for molesting 2-year-old

Bengaluru: A 44-year-old lecturer was thrashed by the residents on Monday night after he was caught sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl child in Kothanur, East Bengaluru.
The accused has been identified as Mathew from Kerala. He has been living in a rented house in Kothanur for the last two years. He is a teacher at a private school in Avalahalli. The victim is the daughter of a construction worker who was living next door. When the little girl was playing outside, Mathew tricked her into his home with chocolates and started sexually assaulting her. The girl cried out loud which gathered the neighbor and her parents who broke open the door and caught the man in the act.
Local people thrashed Mathew and handed him over to the Kothanur police who arrested him. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim’s parents the police booked Mathew under different sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
