Chikkodi: Former chief minister BS Yediyurappa said that JD(S) leaders will be asked to support BJP candidates in the upcoming Karnataka Legislative Council Elections scheduled for December 10.
Speaking to media at the farmhouse of BJP candidate from Chikkodi Mahantesh Kavatagimath, Yediyurappa said that request will be sent to HD Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy for extending their support to BJP candidates wherever JD(S) has not fielded candidates for the Legislative Council seats.
“Out of the 25 seats vacated in the Legislative Council, BJP will contest in 20 constituencies. We expect to win 15 out of 20 seats,” he said.
The opposition Congress has still not announced the list of candidates. This shows the confusion within the party,” Yediyurappa said.
Claiming that the BJP government is giving good governance in the state, Yediyurappa added that the government is ready to implement only constructive suggestions by Congress and not needless criticism.
