Let Mar Thoma Church, Masjid provide entry to women like Sabarimala: Ramesh Shinde

Udupi: Women are banned from entering Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church and Masjids in Kerala. Therefore, steps should be taken to allow the entry of women here similar to the entry of women at Sabrimala, demanded Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson of the pro-Hindutva Hindu Janajagruti Committee with the Kerala government.
The women devotees, said to be in their 40s, were brought in an ambulance near the temple. Then they wore black burkha, were escorted with police and secretly entered the temple.
It has now come to knowledge that the two women were not Ayyappa’s devotees but rather workers of the communist party. When there is no devotion, what is made possible by allowing such secret entry into the temple? If the communist government is truly for progress and against traditions, let them provide entry for Muslim women into the masjids under police protection, stated Shinde in a release.
