‘Let’s make April cool’: An unique initiative by Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gurpur on dad’s b’day

Mangaluru: The summer heat is taking a toll on humans and animals alike and everyone in the city they have noticed how hot it has been the past few days and it’s only the start of the summer season!

The soaring temperature is just an indication of how deadly the heatwave is gonna be. While we humans may escape the heat by sitting in air-conditioned rooms, the stray animals and winged creatures will face the brunt of the summer heat.

In a bid to create awareness on helping birds and animals this summer an Engineer, Author, Educator Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gurpur has come up with a unique initiative called ‘Let’s make April Cool’, and the best part that he came with the idea to celebrate his Father’s birthday.

In a Facebook post, Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gurpur wrote “Today (Saturday, March 27) is my dad’s (name) birthday. To celebrate will be sponsoring few reused oil tins that are converted to cater the water and grains need of birds during this scorching summer.”

“March is already so hot and I can’t imagine how hotter April would get. Therefore, keeping the well-being of the birds in mind, me and Azzfar Razack came up with this project,” he added.

He further added, “To make these bird feeders, we are reusing the existing oil tins, and creating jobs for craftsmen, taking forward the message Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.:

What inspired Ananth to come-up with this initiative is a post by an IFS officer, Parveen Kaswan regarding the same.

Ananth has also asked the people who are interested to be a part of this initiative to inbox him on Facebook.

Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gurpur who is working as a Professor in Computer Engineering at the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management has written several books focussing on self-development and self-help genres besides the Cybersafe Girl [2] and Glorious Bharat Series (Part 1 – 3)

Ananth is also a Cyber Law Trainer at the Karnataka Judicial Academy, Bengaluru, India, and Cyber Security Trainer at the Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru, India, and has also helped in establishing the Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security and Forensics at Sahyadri College.

He has hosted numerous talk shows and programs on various media platforms like television, radio, social media like Youtube, Facebook live etc. Career Lighthouse, a 33 episode career guidance series hosted by Ananth Prabhu is a popular TV Program in Karnataka.
