Lifeguards Rescue Tourist from Drowning in Murdeshwar Sea

In a timely rescue operation, Puneet K, a 19-year-old tourist, was saved from drowning in the Murdeshwar sea on October 13. Puneet, who was enjoying a trip to Murdeshwar with friends from Bengaluru, unknowingly ventured too far into the water and got washed away in the sea.

Coast Guard personnel Yogesh Harikant and Lakshman Harikant noticed him and immediately swung into action and successfully rescued him before he could drown.

The area near the Murdeshwar temple had been opened to tourists, but the lack of essential rescue equipment, such as speedboats and lifeguard supplies, raised concerns for visitor safety.

Despite these challenges, the quick actions of the Coast Guard personnel using a small boat for the rescue have been widely praised.
