Mysuru: Six persons died on the spot following lightning accompanied by rainfall in an incident reported at Nandinathapura village in Periyapatna of Mysuru district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Puttanna (60), Suvarnamma (45), Sujay (18) and identity of other three persons is yet to be known. The accident occurred when all the deceased took shelter in a small temple following unexpected rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm. Unfortunately, all six died on the spot following heavy lightning which struck the area.
All six deceased who died in the accident were the residents of Hunasavadi of Periyapatna. Periyapatna police rushed into the spot soon after the incident and have registered a case on the incident.
