Bengaluru: The last day for farmers in Karnataka to link their Aadhaar numbers with their agricultural pump sets is today (i.e. September 23, 2024). Those who fail to complete the linkage may delay receipt their subsidy from the following month.
The Energy Department has issued a reminder that farmers using irrigation pump sets of up to 10 HP must ensure Aadhaar linkage to continue receiving subsidies. The state government has mandated that reports be submitted by September 24 regarding the completion of this process.
As of now, around 1.92 lakh farmers have yet to link their Aadhaar. Out of the total 33.83 lakh agricultural pump sets in the state, 31.90 lakh have already been linked. Approximately 68,858 pump sets were rejected due to various reasons, leaving 1.17 lakh pump sets still requiring Aadhaar linkage.
The Energy Department has cautioned that any delays in future subsidy releases will be the responsibility of the respective ESCOMs, adding pressure on them to ensure timely completion of the process.
