Locals also to pay toll at Hejmady, Sasthan from today

- Severe protests warned
Paadubidri: Let the district administration’s hurried decision of burdening the people by charging toll on local vehicles be not be implemented. Let a committee be created to visit various part of the state for inspection and then the decision be taken. If toll collection is begun on Nov 26th, severe protests will be taken, phase by phase, announced Horata committee.
On Sunday, a meeting was conducted by the Toll opposition fight committee at the Billava Samaja Seva Sangha auditorium here in relation to the protests to be held against the collection of toll from local vehicles from Nov 26th at Hejmady toll gate.
The district in-charge minister had called for a meeting in relation to the highway on Nov 28th. Hwever the decision to collect toll from the local vehicles from Nov 26th itself is an insult to the minister, said Dr Deviprasad Shetty, president of the committee.
Preparations in Sasthan too
Kota: Preparations have been done at Sasthan toll gate too to collect toll from local vehicles form Nov 26th. 2 buses loaded with police have arrived to the toll gate on Sunday evening.
“We will be doing a toll rejection movement. The localities must provide their support. The police should only look after the wellbeing of the system of law and order and not act as mediators for toll collection, said Pratap Shetty, president of Sasthan Highway Awareness Committee.
