Locals Rescue 10 Tourists Trapped in River Cauvery Near Kollegala

Kollegala: The locals rescued ten tourists from danger in River Cauvery at Sathegala village in Kollegala of Chamrajnagar district on Tuesday. The incident occurred as water level in the river moved up significantly akin to flood after authorities raised the outflow of water from Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) reservoir without any prior warning.

Following steep rise in the water level, the tourists including women climbed the huge rocks located in the river and asked the locals to help them. The locals brought necessary tools and rescued the tourists who trapped in the river amid flood like situation.
