Lockdown: Railway approves special train from Delhi to Karnataka

Indian Railways has approved to deploy special train from Delhi to Bangalore for the movement of stranded Migrant workers due to COVID-19 lockdown.
Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda held talks with Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on the issue and requested to approve a special train to be sent to the state.
The Railway Department has sanctioned the release of a special train for Kannadigas stranded in northern India due to the lockdown.
In a press release, Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda said that the Kannadaigas are waiting to return to the state not only from Delhi but also from other places like Haryana, Punjab and North India.
He further said, “I have spoken to the concerned officials of those states to send them to Delhi and from there they can be brought to Bengaluru using special trains”
“I have also discussed with Foreign Minister Jaishankar to arrange flights to safely repatriate Kannadigas from different countries”, he added
