Udupi: Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj stated that he is willing to contest the Lok Sabha elections if the party nominates him.
Addressing the media in Udupi on Wednesday, Madhwaraj mentioned his readiness to receive the party’s ticket if deemed eligible.
He said that there were no MPs of the fishing community along the coastal region from Gujarat to West Bengal, and expressed confidence that the BJP would address the concerns of the backward classes.
While acknowledging the possibility of other deserving candidates getting a ticket, Madhwaraj emphasized the importance of considering the opinions of workers and the public. The former minister highlighted his extensive efforts, including a six-month constituency tour and meetings with fishermen leaders across 24 districts for his credentials.
Madhwaraj noted that he had engaged with 6,000 BJP workers and leaders in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru region during his interactions. The decision on the ticket, he suggested, should align with the sentiments of the people and party workers in the area.
