Lok Sabha elections: 10,11,031 voters in the district

Kasaragod: There are 10,11,031 voters in the district who will decided the future of the country in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Of them, women will be the decisive factor. Along with Non-Residential Indian (NRI) voters, there are 5,15,941 female voters and 4,95,089 male voters. For the first time in the district, the voters list includes the name of a transgender who will be casting his vote.

Including 115 women, 3,276 NRI voters are in the district. Male voters are more in Manjeshwar Assembly constituency. There are a total of 2,12,086 voters of whom 1,06,624 are male voters and 1,05,462 are female voters. Kasaragod Assembly constituency has a total of 1,92,975 voters of whom 96,742 are male voters and 96,233 are female voters.

Trikkaripur Assembly constituency has the highest number of NRI voters. This time there are 1.181 voters. The Assembly constituency with the least number of NRI is Kasaragod. There are only 239 persons belonging to this division. 1,500 service voters are in the district.

The Assembly constituency with the highest number of voters is Manjeshwar. It has 1,06,624 male voters and 1,05,462 female voters. Altogether there are 2,12,086 voters in Manjeshwar constituency. The least number of voters are in Kasaragod Assembly constituency with a total of 1.02,075 voters. Udama Assembly constituency has 1,03,684 female and a total of 2.03,669 voters. Kanhangad Assembly constituency has 1,08,935 women, one transgender and a total of 2,09,158 voters. Trikkaripura has 1,01,627  female and a total of 1,93,143 voters.

New voters

24,856 new voters have been added to the voting list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The count includes the online applications submitted for the inclusion of new voters in the voter slip till April 5th as well as the names provided till March 25th. As per the count published on Jan 30th 2019, there are 9,86,172 voters in the district. Now, 24,859 voters have been newly added to the voters list. Of them, 13,121 are males and 11,739 are females.
