Mangaluru: BJP’s resounding victory in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, and the formation of the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a second consecutive time was celebrated by a jubilant BJP Dakshina Kannada district committee on Saturday June 1.

The victory was celebrated in front of the party office by BJP leaders and workers here.

A victory march from Town Hall to the BJP office near PVS circle was led by BJP district president Sanjeeva Mathandoor, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath and Mangaluru North MLA Bharath Shetty.

MP Nalin Kumar addressed the gathering after winning the Lok Sabha elections for the third time in a row, said “People have given a clear mandate in favour of Narendra Modi-led NDA. This proves that people are satisfied with the administration given by Modi and his team over the last five years,” he claimed.

“This time too, the union government will stand with the people by introducing various programmes and developmental projects which are essential to their welfare. Secondly, by electing me again, the people of Dakshina Kannada have shown their faith in me. I thank the citizens of this district and all the party workers who worked for my victory. I will continue to serve and will always work for the betterment of the district,” said Nalin.

Speaking on the occasion Sanjeeva Mathandoor said, “This is a time to rejoice. Our hard work has paid off and we have won with a record majority in the district. We have succeeded in countering all allegations and false propaganda done by Congress and its allies. Day and night our party workers worked for the party’s victory, and they especially succeeded in convincing people who were not traditionally supporting BJP. Narendra Modi is a universal leader and India needs his leadership. Knowing this, the people of India have chosen him as Prime Minister for a second time. We are grateful to all who dreamed of building a new India by strengthening the hands of Modi.”

Many local BJP leaders, supporters and party workers participated in the victory march chanting slogans praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amith Shah and MP Nalin Kumar. The march passed through Clock Tower, Hampankatta, GHS road, Temple Square, Balaji Talkies, New Chitra Talkies, Alake, Durga Mahal, Ballalbhag, MG Road to PVS circle.
