Karkala: A woman was found brutally murdered at her residence at Ayyappanagar in Kukkundur village on Sunday, June 8th. She was alone at home when the attack occurred.
The deceased has been identified as Florine Machado (50) wife of Antony D’Souza of Hukratte. She was staying with one of her sons following a discord with her husband.
The murder came to light on Sunday when one of her friends on not finding her at the Sunday mass at the Church visited her house only to find her in a pool of blood. The cause of the murder is suspected to be due to money lending business.
On Saturday, her son had been to her husband’s place. There was some dispute over her money lending business which might have resulted in the murder, inform sources.
Contact with police
It is being said that the deceased Florine had contact with police a few years back. There are doubts if it was in connection to the collection of interest money or for some other threat or for some private reason?
Screams remained unheard
On Saturday, the victim was alone at home. But no clue was found in relation to the attack during the incident night. No screams too were heard from the house, say the localities.
Udupi Superintendent of police Laxman Nimbargi, Additional police superintendent Kumar Chandra, Dy.SP Kumaraswami, Karkala PSI Nanja Nayak and forensic investigators have visited the location and carried investigation.
