Looting accident victims on Charmadi Ghat: 3 arrested

‎Belthangady: Three youths have been arrested for their involvement in the looting of accident victims on the Charmadi Ghat on May 4.

A car that was on its way from Devanhalli via Kottigereha hit a roadside barrier at around 12.30 AM on May 4. Injured and unable to contact the emergency services, the occupants were sitting in the car.

Later, a group of youth on a bike and a scooter had robbed the accident victims of their valuables and fled from the spot.

One of the victims, Madhusudan of Devanahalli in Bengaluru, had filed a complaint regarding the incident at the Banakal Police Station.

Based on the complaint and subsequent investigation, police have arrested three accused, identified as Mohammed Rameez alias Rummy (19) of Suri Kumeru in Bantwal Taluk, Rajeen alias Rajju (20) of Perne Sattikal, and Mohammed Sawad alias Sawad Kunhi (18) of Kedila Gadiyara.
