Lorry –car accident: Two dead

Madikeri: Two persons lost their lives in an accident which occurred between a ready mix concrete lorry and a car at Maruti Nagar in Kodagara Halli near here on Sunday morning. The deceased have been identified as Irfan (26) a resident of Upputodu in Kodagara Halli and Samad.
The victims were travelling in the car and heading towards Kodagara Halli from Kushalnagar, when the lorry going towards Kushalnagar from Shuntikoppa collided with the car. The impact of the collision was such that the car was completely destroyed. The severe injuries suffered by Irfan in the accident claimed his life on the spot. Samad, also incurred grievous injuries and lost his battle for life while being taken to a hospital in Mysuru.
Public outraged
Ready mix concrete lorries and tippers are being driven rash and negligently, and at high speeds along the highway here. Hence there is a rise in number of accidents occurring here. The police and the Transport Department need to initate proper action against this, urged the locals.
