Belagavi: The legislators of the BJP party met early on Thursday, December 20 at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi to discuss the party’s plan of action for the polls.

The BJP party has already started the process of putting in place a poll calendar of events for forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Initially, the BJP  will begin with strengthening its ‘Shakti Kendras’, a cluster of five to six polling booths, by appointing office-bearers, who will play the role of macro-level election managers for the party.  A legal expert and a media in charge among others as its office-bearers will be appointed in Shakti Kendra.

In January, BJP national president Amit Shah will address the divisional conventions of the office-bearers. In February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a series of rallies in the state. However, the dates and locations for the divisional conventions and rallies are yet to be finalized.

The BJP has also planned to revive the 19-point formula for the party set by Amit Shah ahead of the Assembly polls with a aim to strengthen its grassroots-level organisation, which includes  forming booth committees, page pramukh, where each worker is given responsibility for a page in the electoral rolls, carrying out social media work, creation of WhatsApp groups, gain feedback from people in constituency among others.
