Lukewarm response to Bharat Bandh in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Bharat Bandh on Tuesday had no major impact on a normal life in Mangaluru.

Shops and commercial establishments were open and autos, cabs, and buses plied as usual.

However, the protesters are likely to block the National highway road at Nanthoor later in the day.

Farmers protesting against the Centre’s agricultural sector laws called for Bharat Bandh on Tuesday, December 8, and several opposition parties, including the Congress, the DMK, the TRS and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, have voiced their support for the bandh and said their workers will participate.
