Orange peels were used to create a luxury handbag by a Jordanian food artist and molecular gastronomist.
Omar Sartawi wowed the crowd with his one-of-a-kind creation, which he created using a technique he calls “digital fabrication.” He made the material for the luxury bag out of fruit peels and a laser.
“One of the things I am currently working on is processing the leather of fruits and vegetables in new ways, to be used as environmentally friendly material, to turn it into luxury brands. We can create extravagant products with modern designs through available technologies. I am using it in fashion, accessories, high-end bags, and furniture,” Omar said in a video.

It took a year of trial and error to come up with this bag. Omar wrote, “After a year of trial and error, finally the “Orange Peels Leather Bag” is coming together beautifully.”
