Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday accused Water Resource Minister M B Patil of accepting Rs 25 crores bribe for granting water irrigation works  worth Rs 159 crore.

Speaking to the reporters Yedyurappa said “Visvesvaraya Jala Nigam Limited has granted the works related with Upper Bhadra venture to an organization called NPCC. The works have been granted in spite of the organization submitting fake experience certificates, he charged.

The organization had guaranteed that it has the experience in executing such works in Tripura and Manipur States. But as a general rule, it isn’t so. Both Tripura and Manipur government have affirmed this reality.

Yeddyurappa additionally requested a CBI probe to draw out reality.
