Madikeri: Husband murdering wife sentenced for life

Madikeri: In the backdrop of having proved the murder of a man in the forest area of Talakaveri, the District and Sessions Court Judge V Veerabhadrappa Mallapura has sentenced the accused woman P Asha from Bengaluru, who is the wife of the victim to life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000.
Incident synopsis
Asha was residing with her husband Linga Raju, in-laws Patalamma and Marisomappa at the 3rd village in Jayanagar Bengaluru. On June 24th 2016, she had accompanied her husband to Talakaveri in Bhagamandala. Later, she tricked her husband to sleep in the forest area of Talakaveri and then slit his throat with a knife. She then returned back to Bhagamandala, boarded a private bus to Madikeri from where she when to a relatives place at Arasikere in Hassan.
Once the corpse is found, the police successfully confirm its identity. On examination of the CCTV camera footage captured at Talakaveri temple, the victim Linga Raju is seen at the temple premises with his wife Asha. Thus, the accused is arrested and the chargesheet is submitted to the court. Advocate Krishnaveni argued on behalf of the prosecution.
