Madikeri: Kodagu police arrest Bantwal man for causing injury to traffic cop

Madikeri: The Kodagu police on Friday, October 25 arrested a driver from Bantwal for allegedly injuring an on-duty traffic policeman.
The accused, identified as Nazir (27) from Nandavarakatte village in Munnur, Bantwal Taluk was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
The incident took place on October 20 near General Thimmaiah Circle in Madikeri, where two vehicles had collided, causing heavy traffic.
Sanju A.G., a traffic police officer had asked Nazir to pull his car aside, but Nazir allegedly ignored the cop’s instruction and drove off causing an injury to Sanju in the process. The act was captured on CCTV footage.
DySP Mahesh Kumar, CPI Raju P.K., and PSI Lokesh, managed to locate and arrest the absconding accused.
District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan commended the officers for their efficiency.
