Madikeri: Lecturers of a rural PU College in Kanakapura reportedly misbehaved with female students after forcing them to consume alcohol during a trip. The students have lodged a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights regarding the incident.
The students from the rural PU college were on a five-day trip from October 5 to 10. The incident reportedly took place on the night of October 9 at a tourist lodge in Madikeri, after they had returned from their trip.
Lecturers Lakshmish and Vishwanath allegedly made the female students consume alcohol and danced with them inappropriately. They also behaved indecently with the students, as per the complaint.
When an attendant attempted to intervene and protect the students, the lecturers allegedly verbally abused and dismissed them. A female lecturer present at the scene did not come to the students’ rescue, the complaint stated.
