Madikeri: Police dogs Copper and Bruno win medals for cracking crime cases

Madikeri: Among the most effective assets assisting the police department in solving complex cases is the canine squad. In Kodagu district, police dogs Copper and Bruno have proved invaluable in assisting skilled officers crack challenging cases.

Copper has earned the top spot in the state for detecting drug-related crimes, securing a prestigious gold medal from the police department. Meanwhile, Bruno demonstrated exceptional skill in criminal detection, earning a bronze medal for his contributions

At the Kodagu District Police Sports Meet’s closing ceremony, SP K. Ramarajan awarded medals and certificates to the dogs, Copper and Bruno personally received their medals, earning applause from the audience.

Notably, Copper will participate in the All-India Police Meet in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in February 2025. Under the supervision of Assistant Police Inspector Jitendra, police personnel Manmohan B.P., Siddanagouda Patil, Vijay, and Pradeep Kuruvatti care for the dogs.
