Mahadayi water dispute: farmers block highway in Huballi

Hubballi: Demanding the implementation of Kalasa-Banduri project the activists of Malaprabhu Mahadayi Kendra Okkuta Samiti led by Lokanath Hebsuru raised slogans against the goa and Karnataka governments for not putting an end to the Mahadayi water dispute.
The protest by activists from Huballi and Navalgund region resulted in blocking of Pune-Bengaluru National Highway for more than an hour on Wednesday.
The president of the Samiti, Hebsur, said that it is because of the negligence of the central government as well as the governments of Goa and Karnataka that the Mahadayi water dispute has no resolution. He also added that no government is willing to help and resolve the problems faced by the farmers.
The farmer leaders from the region were also present during the protest.
