Maharashtra bans sale of loose cigarettes, beedis

The Maharashtra government has imposed a complete ban on the sale of loose cigarettes and beedis.
The state’s public health department said such items are sold without a packet and do not have specific health warnings as mentioned on the packet.
Also, the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2016 showed that Maharashtra has the lowest smoking rate in the country, the Global Youth
