Maharashtra Govt to Release Additional 3 TMC Water to Karnataka

Belagavi: Maharashtra state government decided to release additional 3 TMC water from its Koyna dam immediately following acute water shortage in Vjayapura, Bagalkot and Belagavi districts of Karnataka state. The decision came following a request by Karnataka state government to release 4 TMC water from its dam immediately. Karnataka state government has also transferred Rs 36 crore to Maharashtra towards water released from its dam. Earlier, Maharashtra government released 5 TMC water from its Koyna dam to Karnataka in the last 40 days.
