Mahila Cong members gherao Shashikala Jolle over bribe issue; “I have done no wrong,” says Minister

Vijayapura: Mahila Congress members and various women’s organizations on Sunday gheraoed Muzrai and Haj and Wakf Minister Shashikala Jolle accusing her of taking bribes in the procurement of eggs meant for Anganwadi children.

They prevented her from hoisting the flag at the Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University in the city. The members then went to the stage and shouted slogans against the Minister.

Reacting to the incident Shashikala Jolle said, ” I have not done anything wrong. It is  very common to defame a woman when she is doing something good for society. I do not care about such allegations. I won’t succumb to the pressure tactic. I am clean and ready for any probe.”

” I came to social service because we have a special child in our house. I know the difficulty of such mothers. If I have done anything wrong then God will take care of it,” he added.
