Mumbai: A single mother from here has turned her Mahindra Bolero into a food truck. Impressed with her success story, Mahindra Group CEO Anand Mahindra extended help to support her venture.

Twitter users came together to connect a woman entrepreneur with Mahindra Group CEO Anand Mahindra.

Shilpa’s business ‘Halli Mane Rotties’, the mobile fast-food truck has now become popular serving North Kannada delicacies.

Shilpa who started her business in 2015, was criticized for taking a risk. Short of finances, Shilpa reluctantly withdrew Rs 1 lakh deposit that she had set aside for her son’s education. She bought a Mahindra Bolero pick-up truck and then set-up her standalone food joint.

“It was my circumstances, not a decision to become an entrepreneur that led to the starting of this business. The local residents supported my initiative, and it just clicked,” Shilpa said.

Soon, after Mahindra group CEO tweeted, “A terrific story of entrepreneurship to end the week with. At Mahindra, we call this a Rise story. Am so delighted the Bolero played a small role.”
