The MESMA 350 platform

Mahindra & Mahindra will be supporting the electric vehicle business of struggling Korean car maker SsangYong Motors.

The Indian utility vehicle major will be sharing its ‘MESMA 350’ drivetrain with SsangYong which is suitable to be used for converting existing internal combustion engine vehicle ranges into electric ones.

“Mahindra will continue to support SsangYong to develop and supply the electric SUV drivetrain on MESMA 350 platform based on their requirements,” said Rajesh Jejurikar, ED, Mahindra & Mahindra.

Mahindra Electric has been considering supplying the MESMA 350 to other companies across the globe in an effort to lessen the risk of its electric vehicle business.
