Malayalam director Sachy passes away

Thrissur: Malayalam film director and scriptwriter Sachy (48) passed away at a private hospital in the city on Thursday, June 18.
KR Sachidanandan, popularly known as Sachy suffered a cardiac arrest after a hip-replacement surgery at another hospital. He was admitted to Jubilee Mission Medical College on Thursday Morning.
The 48-year-old writer was a lawyer by profession before entry into films, Sachy was well known for writing scripts for movies Run Baby Run, Chettayaees.
He ventured into direction with the movie Anarkali in 2015. Sachy’s last directed movie, Ayyappanum Koshiyum was a box office success.
Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly mourned for his death and wrote on social media, “Shocked to hear the sudden demise of Sachy ettan. Indeed a big loss to Malayalam cinema. May his soul rest in peace!”
