Thirthahalli: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Saturday vowed not to let the Malenadu region be allowed to become a den of terrorists. He said that none who disturb the unity and integrity of the nation will be spared.

His statements came against the backdrop of the arrest of two suspected ISIS-backed terrorists by Shivamogga Police recently.

Jnanendra said that even though the suspected terrorists hail from Thirthahalli, they had a close association with “fanatical forces” in the coastal city of Mangaluru.

Speaking to media persons here, the home minister congratulated the Shivamogga police for their swift actions. He also promised awards to police for their commendable job by which a major disaster has been averted, he said.

The investigation has revealed that the suspects had carried out bomb blast trials. One can only imagine the results if they were not caught in time, he added.
