Malpe: Fishing boat accident; Rs 20 lakh loss

Malpe: A boat which had left for fishing from Malpe port encountered an engine failure and ended up on the sea shore, suffering some damage near Padukere Shantinagar in Mape on May 9th.
Amrutheshwari is the boat which met with the mishap. Since the boat got stuck in the sand, water along with sand has entered into the engine room. The boards and fiber at the bottom of the vessel have been damaged. The estimated loss incurred is around Rs 20 lakh.
A case in this connection has been registered at Malpe police station.
