Malpe Vasu not arrested, only warned: police

Udupi: The police questioned Malpe Vasu, known to some as ‘Troll Boss’ in connection to his trolling on social media ono Sunday March 17th. The ‘Troll Boss’ is known to frequently troll a political party with controversial posts on social media.

Lately, there has been a rise in political posts on social media targeting a political party or politicians of that party and such posts have gone viral.

The police informed that Vasu was questioned and the released. He was also warned to not to disturb peace in the society ahead of elections especially with the model code of conduct being in effect. The police reminded him that there is limit for humour as well.

During questioning, it was revealed that Vasu does not have a mobile phone and unidentified men had lured him with cash and liquor, videographed and posted his clip on social media. The police reportedly told him that even humour should have a limit.

Social media was abuzz on Sunday Mar 17th, that Malpe Vasu had been arrested for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Some of the supporters even sought intervention from BJP leaders. But the police clarified that Vasu was only summoned and freed after a stern warning.
