Man accused of making derogatory remarks against Pratibha Kulai surrenders in court; remanded to police custody

Mangaluru: A man, accused of making derogatory remarks on social media against former city corporator Pratibha Kulai was arrested after he surrendered in a court on Thursday.

The accused K R Shetty, a resident of Adyar Padav appeared before the court in the presence of his lawyer. He has been remanded to a day’s police custody.

Meanwhile, Shyam Sudarshan Bhat, another accused in the case is absconding and police have formed four teams to nab him.

Recently,  K R Shetty had posted an image of Pratibha Kulai from the anti-toll protests at Suratkal here on social media and asked netizens to give a “suitable title” for it.

Shyam Sudarshan had posted a derogatory remark on the post triggering outrage from Billava organisations and others including the Congress.
