Man arrested for abetting suicides of wife, daughter

Bengaluru: The husband of a model who along with her seven-year-old daughter jumped to death from the 20th floor of her apartment in Puttenahalli was arrested by the Puttenahalli police.
The arrested is Pankaj, who owns a hardware shop in Ashok Nagar.
Pankaj was arrested based on the complaint filed by the model’s brother Prashant. The deceased, Jyothi P., a model, had recorded a video before taking the extreme step in which she had accused Pankaj of suspecting her fidelity and fighting frequently over the issue.
On Monday, August 5 Jyothi jumped off the 20th floor of her apartment along with her seven-year-old daughter after a fight with her Pankaj in Puttenahalli. Both mother and daughter died on the spot.
Jyothi and her husband Pankaj were married for 12 years. While Pankaj had a hardware shop in Ashok Nagar, Jyothi was into modelling. Pankaj allegedly frequently fought with Jyothi as he suspected her of having an illicit affair. According to police, on Sunday night, the couple fought again and Pankaj left the house in a huff.
Upset over the same, Jyothi along with her daughter jumped from 20th floor of the apartment on Monday, August 5 evening.
Police said that she had recorded a video before committing suicide. However, Jyothi’s family members have blamed Pankaj for the suicides.
