Bengaluru: The KG Halli police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his younger brother to death after a heated argument.
The accused, identified as Akbar (29), reportedly attacked his brother Akram Baig (28) during a domestic altercation on Wednesday night.
Akram, who worked in housekeeping at a private firm on MG Road, lived with his mother, Afreen (50), in KG Halli. Akbar, an auto driver, resided separately.
According to reports, Akram often returned home intoxicated, abusing and threatening his mother. On the night of the incident, Akram allegedly created a scene after consuming alcohol, leading to a verbal altercation with his mother.
Akbar, who had arrived at the house, was enraged upon witnessing his brother threatening their mother. In a fit of anger, he picked up a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Akram.
Though Akram was rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
