Man arrested for harassing 19-yr-old woman

Muzaffarnagar: A man has been arrested for allegedly harassing a 19-year-old woman in Muzaffarnagar’s Moran town, the police said today.

Sanjay was caught and beaten up by locals before being handed over to the police yesterday, Station House Officer Vijay Singh said.

The woman’s family has alleged that the accused had harassed her when she was going for tuition, he said, adding that the matter is being investigated. In another incident, the police have registered a case against four persons for allegedly harassing a 21-year-old woman at Ramda village in Shamli district yesterday.

The victim’s mother in her complaint alleged that her daughter was harassed by the men when she had gone to collect water from a hand pump.
