Man arrested for robbing milk distributor employee of Rs 17 lakh in Outer Delhi

A33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing a man of Rs 17 lakh assaulting him when he was on his way to deposit the cash in an ATM in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area last week, police said on Thursday.
Rahul Bansal, a resident of Delhi’s Budh Vihar, with an accomplice of his, assaulted the victim and robbed him. A sum of Rs 75,000 from the looted money was recovered from him after his arrest, police said, adding they are looking for his partner.
The incident was reported around 2.30 pm on February 7.
It happened when Ashish Kumar, an employee of milk distributor Surender Rana, was on his way to a nearby ATM on his motorcycle to deposit part of the daily collection, they said.
When he was near Krishan Vihar, he was allegedly accosted by two pedestrians. One of them, wearing a mask, allegedly started hitting Kumar with sticks, snatched his backpack, and fled, a senior officer said.
”One of the accused involved in the robbery has been arrested by a team of crime branch and out of the robbed amount, Rs 75,000 cash has been recovered while efforts are being made to nab his accomplice,” he added.
