Man arrested for theft of Rs 2 lakhs

Karkala: The city police have arrested a man for stealing Rs. 2 lakh cash kept inside a car.

The accused is identified as Harikrishna (32), a member of a notorious gang from Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.

Police have conducted the operation at the KSRTC bus stand in Chikkamagalur and arrested Harikrishna and seized a bike from his possession used in the theft.

As per sources, this operation was lead by Station house officer Madhu B E with the support from Circle inspector Sampath Kumar and deputy superintendent of police, Bharath Reddy and team.

This investigation was based on a complaint filed by Malini (29), wife of Vincent Naveen Castelino, resident of Attur Gundyadka on the theft of 2 lakh rupees kept inside a car parked in Kabettu Junction, Karkala on March 7.
