Man attempts suicide at Muzaffarnagar Collectorate

Muzaffarnagar: A man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire at the Muzaffarnagar Collectorate, alleging authorities did not take action against people who grabbed his land, police said today.
Shakir Singh, 50, was rushed to the district hospital after the suicide attempt last evening, Additional District Magistrate Harish Chand said. A probe has been ordered into the incident.
According to Singh’s statement recorded in the hospital, he was forced to try to kill himself as no action was taken against people who allegedly grabbed his land in Chapar police station area.
