Man booked for derogatory post against DC

Mangaluru: A man identified as Melwyn Pinto has been booked for making objectionable remarks against deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh allegedly over her handling of the lockdown clamped in view of covid-19 outbreak.

The said post was circulated on Whatsapp on March 28 and had gone viral. The DC, in a press release on Sunday said that action will be initiated against the accused for the post containing malicious information and creating confusion among the public

Further it has been mentioned that donors can drop off groceries ( rice, dal, oil, pulses etc) at a collection centre, set up by the district administration, at Smart City building.
